Linux ET, no sound?
You probably want to use et-sdl:
http://nullkey.kapsi.fi/et-sdl-sound/

Technical information:
ET uses the OSS sound API. Starting ET with the correct startup command and params will use et-sdl to redirect the OSS API calls (for sound) to ALSA.

/e:
playdeb has a package for ET. Not sure if that includes et-sdl though.

Hello kissaki, thanks for your answer.

I try with et sdl but I’ve no sound again
I have this in initialization :

[et-sdl-sound] info   : et.x86 is installed to /usr/local/games/enemy-territory
[et-sdl-sound] info   : 32-bit libSDL.so is installed to /usr/lib/libSDL-1.2.so.0.11.3
[et-sdl-sound] info   : library is written to /tmp/et-sdl-sound.so
[et-sdl-sound] info   : launching the game...

#so i think all is ok with sdl
[...]

------- sound initialization -------
SDL audio driver initializing...
SDL_AudioDriverName() = NULL
------------------------------------

Another idea ?

Thanks a lot :D

Did do actually read the doc?
How did you start the game?

Log seems ok indeed, until it does not have an audio dev.
Can't help you then.

HEllo kissaki,

Thanks for your answers.

Yes i read the doc.
I start the game with command line : sudo et (or sudo et-sdl-sound)

I don't understand what is the pb... I've only set audio system on OSS instead of pulseaudio ( I’ve read that OSS is needed for the game).. In January, I had the same conf, and sound worked!!

May I re-install ET, or OS ??
I currently download windows 7 (I know... download is bad :D) and I'll install a bi-boot with Ubuntu and win7. I hope it will be better..

Benny
