just an idea. What you guys think about a 10vs10 on baserace? Could be for example clanmates vs regular pub guys.
We did it a lot of times at my old clan, and worked really fine.

the only issue is the reliability of people turning up. we have no way of contacting them

You could try it with server messages, and everybody who wants to join the event, have to sign in at our forum. There would be an Topic about this event, i think it would be easy to handle
